A delicious, wholesome dish that is traditionally Cypriot.
Served with pilav (rice) and yoghurt. Can be made with beef/lamb pieces too.
Ingredients:
200g Beef cubes (optional)
300g Dried molohiya leaves
1 tin Canned tomatoes
1 Onion
1 Lemon
1 cube Chicken stock
2 cloves Garlic
Directions:
Soak the molohiya leaves in water for 30 mins.
Fry the garlic and onions in a pan (and meat, if used).
Add the tomato juice and chicken stock – heating until it boils.
Add in the leaves. Cook for 1h30 until tender.
Add in lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Serve with rice and yoghurt.
