Turkish 'rolled' cabbage dish, stuffed with meat and rice and cooked in tomato sauce
Secret ingredient pomegranate molasses
Ingredients:
1 cabbage
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
250g minced beef
¼ cup tomato paste
1 bunch parsley
100g white rice (short grain)
½ cup tomato sauce
1 cube dhicken stock
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
Directions
Cut the cabbage core. Boil the cabbage head for 10 mins and then let cool.
Sautee the onions and garlic. Stir in the rice for a few minutes.
Combine the filling: onion, garlic, minced beef, tomato paste, rice, parsley,
salt, pepper.
Roll the cabbage leaves with the filling. Place in a saucepan lined with
cabbage leaves. Cover with tomato sauce, lemon juice and chicken stock.
Cook for an hour on low heat.Cut the cabbage core. Boil the cabbage head for 10 mins and then let cool.
