Turkish kebab wrapped in bread and served with a rich tomato sauce and yoghurt
Served with parsley, onion, lemon. Flatbread and yoghurt. Traditionally made with lamb, but I prefer beef.
Ingredients:
500g minced beef
1 pepper
1 bunch mint and coriander
1 onion
1 clove garlic
2 tbsp pepper paste
¼ cup soaked breadcrumbs
Salt to taste
Directions:
Mince the garlic, onions and red pepper. Fry for a few minutes.
Put in a bowl and combine with the rest of the ingredients.
Add salt, sumac, pepper.
Shape into long sausages (length of bread/tortilla used)
Wrap them in tortilla/pastry (using egg wash to glue together).
Cut into small pieces and arrange in pan.
Bake in oven at 200c for 10-15 mins.
Pour over tomato sauce and yoghurt. Sprinkle with mint.
